No, La Grande Chaumière isn't closing!!

Given the wildest rumors circulating about the future of the Grande Chaumière studio, we felt it necessary to issue the following clarification. 

Last October, the property located at 14 Rue de la Grande Chaumière was sold to a private individual by the heirs of the owner, who passed away in 2017. 

This facility houses both of our company's operations: 

- the studio itself, specifically drawing and painting from live models,

- our school of interior design and art direction, the Académie Charpentier. 

As such, we have held a commercial lease since 1954, which has been regularly renewed ever since. 

The current lease expires in July 2021 and will be renewed, as before.

The new owner, whom I met, will be carrying out major renovations, and we will be making the improvements the site needs. 

So we still have many wonderful years ahead of us together.
