Stencils, 1920

The Académie de la Grande Chaumière has decided to support the victims of the war in Ukraine by donating all proceeds from Friday, March 11, to the Fondation de France, which has launched a fundraising campaign to assist both Ukrainian refugees and those who have remained in the country.   For this occasion, the open workshop on March 11 was exceptionally streamed via Zoom for our loyal participants from other parts of the country and abroad who wished to take part in the event.

Thanks to the generosity of the participants, we raised €1,016.

On this occasion, we paid tribute to our greatest Franco-Ukrainian artist, Sonia Delaunay, whose flamboyant world brings a splash of color to these otherwise bleak times.                                                                        In particular, she designed numerous theater costumes and outfits for the women of her time.

Monika was our model that day.
