Dôme Grand Prix - June 1959
On the occasion of the Prix du Dôme award ceremony, a report from Montparnasse at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and at the home of the painter FOUJITA, one of the jury members. Silent segment. A couple entering the Grande Chaumière studio. A plaque at the school. In the studio, a young woman poses while the painters, palettes in hand, work at their easels under the guidance of Yves BRAYER. A young man opens the door to FOUJITA’s studio, which features an unusual decor, including a wall of tiles depicting the artist’s works. FOUJITA, seated at his table, sketches a drawing. On the terrace of La Coupole, the young man encountered in FOUJITA’s studio, accompanied by journalist Marina GREY, has his portrait painted by SACHA, an amateur painter from Montparnasse.
