A French journalist and art critic born in 1921 in Montmartre, the daughter of André Warnod (a French writer, cabaret singer, art critic, and illustrator who chronicled life in Montmartre and Montparnasse from the 1910s to the 1930s), she grew up surrounded by the artists of the Butte.
She joined *Le Figaro* in 1944, where she served as an art critic from 1960 to 1995 in the “Performing Arts” section, which her father had headed since 1945.
As a historian of Picasso’s years at the Bateau-Lavoir, she has written *Bateau-Lavoir* (published in English and Japanese, among other languages), *La Ruche et Montparnasse*, *L’École de Paris*, and other works…
She will share with you, on this special occasion, her memories and anecdotes about the painters who shaped the French—and global—art scene of the 20th century.
