Exhibition: "Modigliani / Zadkine: A Friendship Cut Short"

From November 14, 2024, to March 30, 2025, the Zadkine Museum presents "Modigliani / Zadkine: A Friendship Cut Short."

The Modigliani/Zadkine exhibition presents a fascinating dialogue between two great artists of the early 20th century, Amedeo Modigliani and Ossip Zadkine. These two major figures of the School of Paris, whose distinct paths converged toward a shared aesthetic quest, are brought together for the first time in an exhibition that highlights their mutual influences, their explorations of the human body, and their vision of art.

La Grande Chaumière, a true artistic institution in the Montparnasse district, played a key role in bringing these two artists together. It was there that Modigliani and Zadkine, like many artists of the time, found a place for exchange, experimentation, and inspiration.

Through this exhibition, the museum offers a fascinating reinterpretation of their respective worlds, while highlighting the subtle connections that bound them together, through a selection of sculptures, paintings, and drawings.
