Exhibition: "Rodin / Bourdelle: Body to Body"

From October 2, 2024, to February 2, 2025, the Bourdelle Museum, in partnership with the Rodin Museum and numerous international institutions, presents "Rodin / Bourdelle: Body to Body."

The exhibition highlights the fascinating relationship between these two masters of sculpture. It explores how Rodin’s legacy profoundly influenced the career of Bourdelle, who was one of his most promising students.

As a professor at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, Bourdelle was deeply influenced by Rodin’s innovative approach, which combined expressive power with precise technique. This experience enabled him to develop a personal style, blending strength and sensitivity, which is evident in both his monumental and intimate works.

The exhibition highlights not only the direct influences but also the stylistic differences that shaped Bourdelle’s art, thereby affirming his unique identity within the sculptural landscape of the 20th century.

This is an invitation to rediscover the influence of Rodin’s teachings on the work of an artist who, in turn, left his mark on his era.
